Rooney back for City clash
Wayne Rooney has told boss Sir Alex Ferguson he will be back for the big Manchester derby on Saturday. The England striker was forced to sit out United's last two league matches due to an ankle injury - and the champions struggled without him. He was a surprise starter for the Champions League quarter-final, second leg with Bayern Munich last Wednesday. Rooney lasted only 55 minutes before hobbling out of the tie. But he has told friends the ankle is now fine and that he should be ready to line up at Eastlands. Martin Blackburn, The Sun
The Sun also picks up on Ryan Giggs' comments that United will not give up the title without a fight.
